Steve McQueen’s final special order Porsche is going under the hammer.

The legendary actor and car guy’s 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is going up for sale at the upcoming Monterey Mecum Auction. According to Steve McQueen’s son, Chad McQueen, this Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is “the last of the McQueen cars,” boasting 234 hp from a 3.0-liter engine.

McQueen originally specified that the Porsche be delivered with sunroof, dual mirrors, a limited-slip differential and black sport seats, while the original paint tag with the special order paint code of 615-9-2 (Slate Gray) is still riveted to the door jamb. He also had a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection special ordered from Bob Smith Porsche in Hollywood.

Chad McQueen also shared that his dad made little modifications to the car, including a switch on the dash that shut off the rear lights “in case he was being chased on Mulholland Drive.” The car is currently owned by collector and restorer Mike Regalia.

Previous owners of the Porsche include movie producer and writer Floyd Mutrux, actor Dean Paul Martin, and Bill Susdorf, who had the car mechanically and cosmetically refreshed in the early 1990s. Regalia took possession of the vehicle in 2008 and has done nothing more than what was necessary to keep it in good operating condition.

A portion of the proceeds from the order will be donated to benefit The Boys Republic, a non-profit treatment community for troubled youngsters in Chino Hills, California.
