Dodge took to Detroit’s Woodward Dream Cruise to reintroduce a classic hue: Plum Crazy.

Both the Challenger and Charger will be available with the classic purple shade for the 2016 model year, making them future collectibles. Just 11 percent of all Chargers and Challengers produced since the cars were reintroduced in 2006 are painted in limited edition colors.

Existing sold orders will get first crack at ordering 2016 Plum Crazy Chargers and Challengers in September, while regular dealer order books will open in October. Orders will end at the end of the year.

Plum Crazy can be had on the Challenger SXT Plus with a V6 and the Challenger R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Classic, and R/T Shaker with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. With the larger 6.4-liter HEMI V8, the color can be had with the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker and SRT 392. The 707-hp Hellcat is also available in Plum Crazy.

With the Charger, the new color can be had with the SXT V6, R/T and R/T Road & Track with the 5.7-liter V8 and the R/T Scat Pack and SRT392 with the 6.4-liter V8. Charger Hellcats aren’t left out either.

Since 2006, just 7,460 Plum Crazy cars have left Dodge factories. Chrysler didn’t announced how many of the cars would be built in 2016, just saying that Plum Crazy will only be around until the end of the year.
