The Audi R8 lineup will reportedly grow with the addition of a V6-powered model in 2018.

A document showing the German automaker’s upcoming product schedule has leaked and was first uncovered by Autobahn. If the document is accurate, it confirms previous rumors that Audi will add a V6 variant to its R8 lineup, namely due to high demand of smaller displacement engines in other markets such as China.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear which V6 engine Audi will use for its high-end sports car, but previous reports suggest that it will be a twin-turbo powerplant destined to be used in the next-generation RS4 and RS5 models, pushing out around 425 horsepower.

Adding onto the rumors, a twin-turbo Audi V8 could also join the lineup in the near future, although it doesn’t appear on the schedule.

The leaked document also confirms a new RS5 Coupe will debut in 2018 along with the Q8 SUV, the next-generation A6, A7 and A8 models as well as a mysterious model with the C-BEV moniker. Next year, the U.S. will get to enjoy the new Audi A5, SQ7, Q7 e-tron and TT RS models.

    V8 has a wider 90 degree vee and lower center of gravity than a 60 degree V6. ...unless it's a 120 degree V6 (which it won't be)
