As Spring approaches, millions of car owners will be looking to add a little shine to their wheels, giving their pride-and-joy some much-needed TLC. And whether you’re staring at the detailing aisle at your local auto shop/big box store, or going cross-eyed looking at Amazon listings, there’s no doubt that it’s easy to become overwhelmed with the increasing number of car care products available to purchase.

So maybe the best option is to see how others have voted with their wallets, and explore a list of the most popular car care products purchased.

To do that, we’ve dug deep into the data of VerticalScope’s Fora forum community, home to over 1,000 unique forums, 55 million registered members and over 100 million monthly active users. From Bimmerfest.com to GR86.org, we’ve compiled the data on purchases of car care products from both the highly-engaged members and casual site users.

Not surprisingly, the list includes top names in the segment including Meguiar’s, Mothers and Chemical Guys. There are also a few surprising products on the list, like the DUSICHIN foam cannon - from a product category that’s really taken off in recent years.

“With Spring just around the corner, it’s fascinating to see what products people are buying at scale,” says Colum Wood, VP Content at VerticalScope. Any product that’s made this list has obviously won a dedicated following and stands out from the overwhelming selection of options available. While ‘most popular’ doesn’t always mean ‘best’, I’d certainly use this list to get started when it comes time to re-stock my car cleaning shelf in the garage. And maybe it’s finally time to modernize my car care routine with a foam cannon.”
