Cadillac has officially announce today that the brand's next electric vehicle will be the Optiq. Details are very scarce, as in all we don't know much more than just the name, but the manufacturer does claim it will be the entry point within Cadillac's electric vehicle lineup.

Compact in size, the Optiq is smaller than the current Lyriq electric SUV. It's safe to assume the Optiq will be built on Generals Motors Ultium electric vehicle platform and share some components with vehicles like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and of course Cadillac's Lyriq.

Cadillac states that the "Optiq's spirited driving dynamics are designed to appeal to global luxury customers." So we'd expect the upcoming EV will be offered in several markets. More details should be announced about the new model next year.

is this another overhyped and underdelivered product by a company that has bet everything they do on EV's but is still trying to figure out how to make them? Is it on platform that nobody knows anything about with a propulsion system that has been told to exist since 2018 but is really only delivered in volumes only hand bulit vehicles are?

I think Delorean has sold more cars than anything on an "Ultium" platform
