Which upscale wagony utility vehicle would YOU rather own, the Audi Allroad or Volvo’s V60 Cross Country? Vote in our latest poll and let the world know!

Yes, these two elevated and sophisticated vehicles have the capability to serve families with ease but is one a smarter choice than the other? Here are the basics of each, starting with Audi.

The Allroad shares mechanicals and other components with the company’s A4 range, accordingly it’s beautifully built and looks far more expensive than it actually is. As you’d expect, quattro all-wheel drive is standard as is a maximum of 7.1-inches of ground clearance, which means this vehicle can tackle a wide variety of terrain.

Under-hood, this Audi features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This propulsion unit puts out 220 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. Matched to an efficient eight-speed automatic transmission it can propel the Allroad to mile-a-minute velocity in as little as 6.4 seconds. Fuel economy measures 21 miles per gallon city, 28 highway and 24 combined.

As for this vehicle’s Scandinavian rival, Volvo’s V60 Cross Country is a perfect match. In fact, it’s graced with underbody skid plates for protection and an even more elevated ride height, which provides 7.9 inches of maximum ground clearance. Take that, Audi!

A turbocharged five-cylinder engine propels this Volvo, the company’s 2.5-liter unit. It provides 250 horsepower along with 266 lb-ft of twist. It’s matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. As it should be, all-wheel drive is included at no extra cost.

So, there you go. Which of these platinum-trim station wagons to you prefer, the elegant Audi Allroad or Volvo’s armor-plated V60 Cross Country? If you need more information on them you can compare them right here. Finally, please remember to vote in our poll!
