Honda fans rejoice, this is the Civic Type R you have been waiting for.

The Japanese automaker may call it a prototype, but don’t expect the production Civic Type R to stray very far from what is making an appearance at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Making its debut alongside the new Honda Civic Hatchback, the Type R has everything you expect, from more aggressive styling to a large rear wing and a triple center-exit exhaust system.

2016 Paris Motor Show Coverage

Honda’s still keeping quiet on performance specifications, but we do expect a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be lurking under the hood. In the current Civic Type R, it generates 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and the new model is expected to best that. What we do know is that a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive will come standard on the car.
