2017 Jeep Renegade Gets 2 New Models
Jeep’s smallest SUV is getting two new models that will debut at the 2016 L.A. Auto Show.
The 2017 Jeep Renegade Deserthawk is a limited edition model that has been inspired by, you guessed it, the desert. The Deserthawk will come in four colors, the best of which is a Mojave Sand color that’s exclusive to this model, 17-inch black wheels, body decals, rock rails and a trailer tow package. Inside, the Jeep gets a model-exclusive combo of black leather seats and Light Frost stitching and accents as well as all-weather floormats and cargo tray.

It wouldn’t be a Jeep if it couldn’t off road, so the Deserthawk is Trail Rated. It comes with a 20:1 crawl ratio, a Selec-Terrain drive system with a Rock mode, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, skid plates, tow hooks, up t0 8.1 inches of wheel articulation, hill descent control, up to 19 inches of water fording ability, and a 2,000-lb towing capacity.
Powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed transmission, the Deserthawk will arrive at dealers in January 2017 and start at $28,140 in the U.S.
The Jeep Renegade Altitude, which is based on the Renegade Latitude, isn’t as exciting. Basically jumping on the blacked-out bandwagon, this model features 18-inch black wheels, gloss black badges, grille and tail lamp rings. The black theme continues inside. The Altitude is available with either the 2.4L engine or 1.4L turbo and a nine-speed auto or six-speed manual. It arrives at dealers later this month and will start at $22,390 in the U.S.
