Faraday Future is assuring naysayers that it is indeed real and is promising to unveil its first production car at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show.

Update 12/07/2016: This article has been updated with additional photos.

Last year at the same show in Las Vegas, the mysterious automaker seemingly appeared out of nowhere with a radical race car concept. This year, however, the car it unveils will be more realistic and road-worthy and is expected to compete in the crossover and SUV segments. The company has released a teaser image of its first production car and, earlier this year, it showed off a video of the prototype testing out on the track.

The American electric car startup is backed by Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting and the company has started construction on a three-million-square-foot factory in North Las Vegas. Yueting is also the owner of LeEco, which showed an electric concept car in April ahead of the Beijing Motor Show and it has been reported Faraday Future is helping develop the universal platform for both cars. The plan is to allow both companies to use a wide range of battery pack sizes on their vehicles in the future.

Not much is known about Faraday Future’s first production car, but expect more teaser images and videos to debut leading up to the car’s unveiling early next year in Las Vegas.
