2017 Continental Supersports is the Most Powerful Bentley Ever

Bentley has once again upped the ante, building its fastest and most powerful production model ever, the Continental Supersports.

The car will hit a top speed of 209 mph (336 km/h) and will make the jump to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.4 seconds, making it the world’s fastest and most powerful luxury four-seat car. A convertible version of the Supersports is also available that can sprint to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).

The power comes from Bentley’s W12 engine which is strapped with new higher-capacity turbochargers and a revised charge-air cooling system. This all comes together to boost power output by 79 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque, bringing the total to 700 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque.

Massive carbon ceramic brakes help to stop this big Bentley, tucked behind 21-inch forged alloy wheels. A titanium exhaust is also an option to help shed a few extra pounds, while Bentley says it sounds like a rifle-fire crackle.

To handle the corners, the Supersports model using the same torque vectoring setup that was introduced on the Continental GT3-R, helping the car to rotate thanks to individually braking different wheels. A rear-bias torque split sees 60 percent of the power head to the rear wheels, though the power split can be changed depending on traction.

To make sure you can spot the Supersports, Bentley installed new bumpers, side sill extensions, hood vents, gloss-black front wing vents, a new rifled exhaust pipe, dark-tint lights and some fresh black-finished brightware.

A massive spoiler can be had on the rear of the car along with a new front splitter, though both are optional.

Inside, as you might expect, these Bentley models feature the nicest materials, including diamond-quilted seats, Alcantara, carbon fiber fascias and more. Those looking for an even more custom car can for the ‘X Specification,” offering the choice of eight different duo-tone treatments and carbon fiber door mirrors.
