Porsche is conducting what it calls a “purely precautionary measure” by recalling 16,429 vehicles.

All of the affected cars are two door sports cars including the 2017 911 Carrera, 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman. On the affected vehicles, a screw connection on the fuel collection pipe can come loose, possibly leading to a fuel leak. Porsche says that this is only precautionary recall, suggesting that no issues have yet been reported as a result of this condition.

Porsche says that customers will be contacted directly by a dealer, which will replace the problematic fastening screws with new optimized screws at no charge.
