Tesla has added a 100D variant for the Model S and Model X.

Returning an EPA-estimated 335 miles on a single charge, the Tesla Model S 100D is now the longest-range consumer EV available in the world. The Tesla Model X 100D gets 295 miles on a single charge, which means shoppers can now choose between range or performance at a cost with the more powerful and faster P100D models. The new models share the same zero-to-60 time as the existing 90D, which is 4.2 seconds in the Model S and 4.8 seconds in the Model X, so they aren’t any faster – they just have more range.

To compare, the Tesla Model S 90D returns 294 miles of range while the Model S P100D gives 315 miles on a single charge. The Model X 90D nets 257 miles and the Model X P100D is good for 289 miles. In other words, the standard 100D doesn’t have a huge range difference compared to the faster P100D.

In terms of pricing, the Model S 100D has a starting price of $97,000 including destination, which is $3,000 more than the 90D. For the Model X, the difference between the 90D and the 100D is $2,000 with the 100D model starting from $102,000.

For now, it appears Tesla will still offer the 90D versions of both the Model S and Model X, but don’t be surprised to see them disappear from the lineup in the future with the 100D essentially replacing them.
