Infiniti has released a teaser image for a new vehicle it will debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Motor Show later this month.

The above image was sent out to media along with an invitation to the debut event for the vehicle. Not much has been confirmed about the mystery Infiniti, besides that it will be the “most advanced,” car in the automaker’s history. Infiniti teased the arrival of the QX50 concept at the 2017 Detroit auto show with a sketch identical to the one pictured here, so we’re almost certain this second teaser is for the production version of the crossover.

There’s a few guesses as to what Infiniti could be alluding to with its “most advanced” claim. In September, the automaker detailed its 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine – a four-cylinder capable of changing its compression ratio based on the current driving situation. By adjusting the stroke of the pistons, the engine can offer any compression ratio between 8:1 and 14:1, allowing it to deliver the performance of a V6 or the fuel economy of a 2.0-liter depending on the driver input.

The second aspect of the new QX50 that may help it lay claim to the title of “most advanced” Infiniti ever could be its rumored autonomous driving capabilities. The concept version previewed the automaker’s semi-autonomous driving system, saying it will be capable of “navigating stop-start traffic on the highway or keeping track of the positions of surrounding vehicles,” so we’re expecting a similar system to appear on the production car. Think Nissan’s ProPilot Assist for the Leaf, though perhaps a bit more advanced.

We’ll learn what Infiniti has up its sleeve later this month in LA.
