Mercedes-Benz is showing us a little bit more of its new 2018 CLS ahead of its debut this week.

The new CLS will ride on the MRA platform currently used on the C-Class and E-Class and is expected to introduce Mercedes’ new 3.0-liter inline-six engine. We also hear a CLS 53 AMG will arrive with the inline-six under the hood, and that there may be no V8 CLS AMG this time around. Whatever the case, we may only have to wait a few more days to get the skinny.

Between the spy photos and teaser images, Mercedes has pretty much already shared the styling of this new CLS with us. The curvy, svelte look of the previous generation CLS has been tossed out in favor of a simpler, more toned-down design – though the coupe-like silhouette remains. The interior will also appear much like other high-end Mercedes cars, with a large touchscreen occupying a good portion of the dash and customizable mood lighting throughout.

The new Mercedes-Benz will be shown in full this week at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. AutoGuide will be reporting live from the floor, so be sure to stay tuned for more info.
