The 2018 Volvo V60 is the type of car that previously may have been reserved for Europeans only, but the Swedish automaker has said from the get-go that its svelte new wagon will be for sale in all 50 U.S. states.

The V60, which debuted earlier this year, is yet another attractive wagon from the Geely-owned brand. Early media images of the wagon showed it with a beige, grey and plaid interior, but assumed that such a distinctly European style choice wouldn’t make it to US spec models. Thankfully, it turns out we were wrong, with Volvo adding the plaid interior option to the 2018 V60 configurator this week.

The plaid option is called Blond City Weave Textile Upholstery and adds plaid upholstered seat fronts, plaid door inserts and beige leather contrasting upholstery. The plaid material looks like it’s probably shared with a like of Ikea couches, but we mean that in a good way. It’s tasteful, cool and not overdone. Sweden, are we right?

When it goes on sale, the 2018 Volvo V60 will be offered with Volvo’s turbocharged and supercharged T6 four-cylinder, which makes a healthy 316 hp. Eventually, a hybrid T8 model will arrive, which will have up to 390 hp on tap. Pricing has to be announced, but we’re expecting full details shortly.
