2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is Made for the Drag Strip
The 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 has made its debut in Denver ahead of the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals Powered by Mopar.
Available for dealer orders starting in late 2018, the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 Package will cost $3,995 on top of the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack, which is priced from $40,390 including destination. Since there is a mandatory automatic transmission as part of the package, that adds another $1,595 bringing the total to a $45,980 starting price.
The model is powered by a 392 HEMI V8 engine with 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, paired to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. The package adds exclusive drag strip technology from the Challenger SRT Demon, transforming the Challenger into a serious grassroots drag racer. Standard features include SRT-tuned adaptive damping suspension with drag mode, line lock, transbrake, torque reserve, and extreme-duty 41-spline half shafts. The car comes standard with just a driver’s seat to reduce weight, although a front passenger seat and rear seat are available for just $1.00.

Helping deliver maximum grip on the drag strip are specially-developed Nexen SUR4G Drag Spec tires sized 275/40R20. These tires are street-legal drag radials and help the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 deliver consistent quarter-mile times.
The American automaker says the Challenger R/T 1320 Scat Pack turns in a quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds at 115 mph, making it the fastest naturally aspirated, street-legal muscle car available.
Highlights on the package include a new interpretation of the legendary Dodge Super Bee logo, the “Angry Bee,” which can be seen on the front fenders, illuminated Air Catcher headlamps, instrument panel, and startup splash screen in the gauge cluster.

I'm disappointed! I was sure 1320 was for the horsepower, now it's just another boring 485 HP car.
I don't understand, if there is only 1 transmission available, why is it an extra charge? Why not just make the car $1600 more ($41,990) instead of doing the nickle and diming - this package, plus this package, oh and then the transmission even though you can't order the car w/o a transmission or a different transmission. It doesn't matter to me as an FCA vehicle is no where near my future vehicle plans; no matter how awesome it is at going fast in a straight line.
