The news keeps coming out of Argentina following the reveal of its version of the Jetta, the Vento. This time, Autoblog Argentina has secured pictures of the GLI version of the car under very little camouflage.

The pictures, submitted by Luis R.A., show at least two vehicles both sporting (what look like) 18” Dallas alloy wheels.

The interior shot also shows leather Top Sport seats and an automatic transmission (if we were a betting site we’d put our money on DSG). Behind the steering wheel, you can also see VW’s fancy new digital cockpit, which places this car at the pretty high up in VW’s content hierarchy.

We also know that the new GLI will toss the 1.4 for a 2.0-liter engine, like the Golf GTI. The regular Jetta’s rear torsion beam suspension also gets the heave-ho in favor of a much sportier multi-link suspension.

As Autoblog Argentina’s talk with Jetta designer Jose Carlos Pavone suggested, we expect the GLI to launch early next year at the Detroit auto show.
