If you thought the regular 2020 Toyota Supra was a bit tame, then you will definitely want to take a look at the new Supra Performance Line.

Toyota pulled the wraps off the radical-looking Supra Performance Line at the recent 2019 Osaka Auto Messe – a long running custom car show held in Osaka, Japan. Developed by Toyota Racing Development, the Supra Performance Line features a new carbon front lip add-on, carbon side skirts, a unique carbon door ‘garnish’, carbon rear aero flares and a carbon trunk spoiler. Completing the package are a set of 19-inch forged aluminum wheels.

These upgrades are designed to improve the look of the new Supra, but Toyota claims they improve downforce as well. The front lip extension reduces front lift, while the side skirts, side door garnishes, rear aero flares and rear spoiler work to direct air over the rear of the vehicle and bring more stability to the rear end at speed. TRD also claims the 19-inch wheels provide increased rigidity and steering response.

The Supra Performance Line is only a concept for now, but it seems likely that Toyota will put these parts into production – if only in Japan. TRD offers a huge lineup of Japan-only performance parts, so it would be a bit surprising for it to sell these parts in North America, but we’ll have our fingers crossed. If you ask us, these parts give the new Supra an aggressive and uniquely Japanese look that the production car should have had from the beginning.
