The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Is Up To $8,000 More Expensive Than Last Year

The Ford F-150 Lightning isn’t the only Ford EV that got a big price jump.

The numbers have been released; pricing for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is way up, and some trims are more than $8,000 more expensive. The base Select Mustang trims have risen $3,000, from $43,895 for a RWD select to $46,895 for the 2023 model year. The Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 has had the biggest price jump, however. Ford cut the RWD model, and the extended range battery is pricier, meaning it’s now $63,575; up from the $52,450 RWD model from 2022. Also, Ford added $200 to the destination fee, bringing it up to $1,200.

To be fair, Ford’s 360 Co-pilot ADAS systems are now standard on all trims. Ford also added two new colors to choose from; Carbonized Gray Metallic and Vapor Blue Metallic. Certain models get a 90-day free trial of Ford’s Blue Cruise, too. Still, that big price jump is a hard pill to swallow, especially considering the US’s new EV tax credit rules. Depending on the trim, and vehicle classification, not every version may qualify for the US’s new $7,500 tax credit scheme.

Ford cites “significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions” as reasons why the price of the Mach-E had to go up so much. Customers with a 2022 order that hadn’t been scheduled, will be offered the opportunity to convert to a 2023 reservation.
