We’re sure that many of you lust after the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS, but chances are unless you’ve placed your order already, you’ll never get behind the wheel of one.

At the very least, Porsche has made a video that gives you a thorough walk-around of their new sports car, dubbed the fastest street legal Porsche of all time, with Andreas Preuninger, Manager of High Performance Vehicles for Porsche, explaining all the important details.

When all the technical details are hashed out, Preuninger takes the GT2 RS up the hill at Goodwood for some rear-engined, flat-six goodness.

A video and a series of print advertisements from MINI has the BMW subsidiary throwing down the gauntlet against German sports car maker Porsche, challenging them to a “race” at Road Atlanta, daring them to let their 911 Carrera go up against the diminutive MINI Cooper S.

McLaren’s MP4-12C is the company’s first road-going 2-seater car. No, really. The British racing firm’s first effort, the McLaren F1, was famously equipped with a 3-seater configuration, with a drivers seat mounted in the center, and two bucket seats mounted on either side. A famous saying (sometimes attributed to F1 designed Gordon Murray) is that the 3-seater existed so that there was one seat for your wife, and one for your mistress.

“A racecar for the street” is one of auto journalism’s most wretched cliches, but the moniker might be fit for one car in the world; the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Porsche‘s 911 GT2 is a treacherous car to drive. The print advertisement slogan for the car, “Respect Required,” is definitely not just a bit of marketing fluff. But for those who need more power and less comfort, Porsche will soon be debuting the 911 GT2 RS, a stripped down, hardcore version of the already stripped down, hardcore GT2.

Packing 620 horsepower, with 200 pounds of weight shed, the GT2 RS is rumored to carry a price tag of 240,000 euros, and come with real race goodies like a rollcage and a fully adjustable suspension. Until yesterday, only a grainy cellphone shot existed, but now, a couple of better resolution pictures have leaked out, one of them showing a very loud red interior. Check it out after the jump.
