The Trailhunter family is expanding.

Toyota isn't quite done teasing the 2025 4Runner yet. After last week confirming the new generation of the venerable off-roader will retain the power-down rear window, Toyota today released a third teaser confirming a 2025 4Runner Trailhunter.

For folks not versed in the latest Toyota trim, Trailhunter is meant to be overlanding-ready straight from the showroom. It will debut on the Tacoma mid-sized truck this year, which comes with unique Old Man Emu shocks, a cut-away front bumper for better clearance, rock rails, and more.

Interestingly, the Tacoma Trailhunter—which very likely sits on the same platform as this new 4Runner—only uses that truck's available hybrid powertrain. The same powertrain found in the reborn Land Cruiser. Where that leaves room for the 4Runner to slot in is something we'll have to wait to find out.

It won't be long, either. Toyota will debut the 2025 4Runner tomorrow evening, April 9, at 7:15pm Pacific Daylight Time. AutoGuide will be on-site to check it out, so stay tuned for the full scoop tomorrow evening.
