There is one inescapable issue all vehicle owners deal with – fuel quality. Gasoline engines get dirty on the inside, especially with today’s ethanol-added fuels that might form more deposits than standard fuels. Add in buying gasoline of different qualities from different companies and you can wind up with decreased performance from your car. Luckily there is a simple fix that can quickly and effectively revive your car’s performance. Liqui Moly’s Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner makes short work of contaminants and build up that collects inside your vehicle’s throttle body system.

What Is It?

Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner is a mixture of specially developed cleaning agents designed to clean and maintain the throttle body and intake manifold of gasoline-powered engines. It dissolves and removes deposits and contaminants that come from varied fuel qualities and normal fuel consumption. The cleaner helps restore normal function of moving parts that are often impacted by these deposits.

Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner also does a great job at cleaning intake valves of modern GDI engines. Using this product helps keeps the intake system in proper working order and reduces repair costs. It is safe with catalytic converters, EGR and GPF systems.

Why Use It?

Gasoline engines are always going to need cleaning and regular maintenance, because the process of running creates deposits and build-up over time. With the modern use of ethanol in our fuel, the issue is magnified. While the ethyl alcohol burns with fewer emissions, it is rough on the engine itself. As the deposits build up, your vehicle’s performance drops. Left unchecked, your throttle body system can clog and stop functioning all together, leading to a costly repair.

How Do You Use It?

You start out by attaching the spray tube with the nozzle. On your car, remove the hose or pipe immediately before the throttle housing. Keep the engine running to perform the proper cleaning. Keep the engine running at 2,000 rpms while spraying the Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner in short intervals of 2-3 seconds. While doing this, move the nozzle back and forth across the opening to completely treat the intake tract. If your rpms vary by 1,000 or more in either direction, stop spraying and allow it to come back to the 2,000 rpm sweet spot.

It is important to keep the cleaning fluid from contacting the mass air flow sensor or any painted surfaces. If there are excessive deposits inside your vehicle’s EGR valve, intake manifold or intake valves, you can use a second can of cleaner to improve your results. When you’re done, leave the engine running at 2,000 rpms for a minimum of 20 seconds. This allows the complete removal of any residing fluid in your intake system. After your first use, maintain your performance by reapplying every 12 months or 10,000 miles.

After you use Liqui Moly Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner, you can notice the difference in how your car runs right off the bat. It is a simple, easy-to-use product that does what it says it will do, and can help you avoid costly repair bills that come with clogged throttle body valves. Check it out at your local Liqui Moly dealer.
