If the new 563-hp SLS exotic from AMG already sounds like your cup of Red Bull, then you’re absolutely going to love the upcoming Black Series. That’s right, according to recent reports, AMG will offer a limited edition hardest-core version of the new Gullwing exotic.

Total output for the new Mercedes halo car will be in excess of 600-hp, with roughly 500 ft-lbs of torque, thanks to updates to the 6.2-liter V8 engine including new cams and higher compression pistons. Additional modifications will include some aerodynamic tweaks, suspension upgrades and a weight reduction of around 110 lbs. The new 0-60 speed is expected to drop from 3.8 seconds to 3.5 seconds, with a new to speed in excess of 200 mph.

“We’re not at the limit with what’s out there the moment. There’s still a good deal more to come from the engine,” says AMG engine boss Friedrich Eichler. “We’re saving the best until last.”

The new SLS AMG Black Series is also expected to cost a good chunk more than the standard car, with a 50% premium bringing the $270,000 exotic up to a stratospheric $405,000.

In addition t the Black Series model, AMG also has plans to produce a cabriolet version of the SLS, as well as a GT racer.
