You just can’t keep a good idea down. First, they were made for people, next up it was redesigned for pets. Now, they’ve made a Snuggie for the Smart Car.

On people, the Snuggie looks pretty hideous, but on the smart car, it looks kind of cool. Created by 20 knitting grandmas – aka the Senior Design Factory – this Snuggie took about 70 lbs. of wool and 2 months to create. Designed to look like a shoe (complete with laces), the Smart Car Snuggie fits the car perfectly, and even has holes knitted for the wheels.

There’s even the possibility to be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest hand-knitted car cover ever created.

It would be interesting to see if the Smart Car Snuggie would actually keep it toasty warm in the winter, or if you can reach for the remote while it’s on – unlike those pesky car blankets. Your Smart Car can now easily turn the pages of a book or answer the phone without worrying about loosing any heat.
