The formula to making any awesome car even more awesome? Change the entire exterior to a matte-black finish. Mercedes-Benz did just that to an SLS AMG, introducing the Night Black shade to the Australian market at the 2010 Australian International Motor Show. Toss in some racy red accents and you’ve got yourself a serious looking car straight from the factory.

We could have done without the red grille highlights and hood vents, but we do love the red calipers, subtle carbon fiber spoiler and a slight performance increase included in the optional Performance Package Plus. No actual numbers were disclosed, but we think we’re safe to assume it’s nothing drastic considering the SLS AMG already throws down 571-hp from the factory.

It’s no doubt that Mercedes-Benz is really leveraging the SLS AMG as their flagship sports car. By appealing to a various number of markets with subtle enhancements to the SLS AMG, we’d be surprised if the vehicle doesn’t become more successful than it already is.
