Not wanting to wait until the LA Auto Show next week, Land Rover has tossed-back the drape on the 5-door version of its new Range Rover Evoque model. Looking as impressive as the “coupe” model that was recently unveiled at the Paris Auto Show, the 5-door adds practicality without taking away any style.

We’ll be surprised if in fact the rear seat area is at all usable with the 3-door sporting compact dimensions. The overall length of both vehicles is identical, although the 5-door receives a less-sloping roof.

U.S. models will come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder making 237-hp, while in Europe the softroader will also be available with one of two diesel engines with either 148-hp or 187-hp. All models will be available as either front- or all-wheel drive.

Inside, it’s pure Land Rover luxury with an optional panoramic glass roof. Technology highlights include MagneRide magnetic adjustable shocks and Land Rovers Terrain Response system.

We’ll bring you more on the new 5-door model with live coverage from the LA Auto Show starting November 17th. Until then, check out our LA Auto Show Preview here.
