The Life Ball is an annual charity event, started in 1993, that focuses on those affected by HIV/Aids. Each year the charity event not only raises awareness for the disease but also money to help fight it. And this year part of the funds generation by the Life Ball will be through the sale of a one-of-a-kind MINI.

MINI has taken part in the event since 2001, and for its 10th year they’ve decided to auction off a Mini Cooper S designed by Dean and Dan Caten, also known as DSQUARED. This unique Cooper S will make its debut in Vienna on May 21st, 2011.

As you can tell by the rendering, the Cooper S will sport a “rugged” style to it. “If we were a car, it would be rugged and robust. Our MINI ‘Red Mudder’ is an accurate reflection of that. With the maple leaf on both doors and the DSQUARED logo on the front shield and wheels, this is unmistakably our style,” said the Caten brothers.

Last year, the Life Ball’s MINI was designed by Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa and was auctioned off for $61,000. They anticipate that this year’s Cooper S may fetch more than that.
