Looking for a new way to waste time at work…we mean, home? Codemasters has finally announced their upcoming free-to-play, browser-based Formula 1 racing game and management simulator. This means that it’ll be easily accessible no matter where you are, so long as you have an Internet connection available. It’s set to launch in the first quarter of 2012 and will allow players to virtually race as their favorite real-world teams or they’ll be able to create a team of their own.

In addition to racing and having a full driving simulator available, including full-scale World Championships and Grand Prix events, gamers will be able to manage their own team. This means managing the commercial, research, production and race crew functions required for success on the track. Notable teams already shown off in the game include McLaren-Mercedes, Williams, Lotus-Renault and Force India while some of our favorite tracks such as Monaco and Silverstone can already be seen.
