Caught sliding through corners at the very limits of its All4 all-wheel drive system, a selection of spy photos reveals the near-production MINI Countryman Coupe testing on the Nurburgring.

Unveiled originally as the Paceman concept, the car is expected to be called the Countyman Coupe when it arrives at dealerships, expanding the MINI lineup once again. Cooper, Cooper S and JCW models will all be offered, with power output close to that of the four-door version at 121 hp, 181 hp and 211 hp.

As is obvious from the sloping roofline on this model expect rear seat room to be compromised. The Countryman Coupe should, however, be a hit in Northern climates, with the option of the brand’s All4 all-wheel drive system.

With MINI having just announced its new lineup changes for 2013, expect the Countryman Coupe to arrive as a 2014 model, though it’s official reveal could happen as early as the Paris Motor Show this Fall.
