The largest car museum in North America celebrated its grand opening on June 2nd, 2012 drawing in thousands of people to its 165,000 square-foot facility.

LeMay – America’s Car Museum, was a ten-year vision that finally became a reality featuring the cars of Harold E. LeMay. His car collection at its peak had more than 3,000 vehicles and inspired the creation of the museum in Tacoma, Washington. The America’s Car Museum houses over 350 cars and will be open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm through Labor Day.

Its opening festivities had remarks by President and CEO David Madeira and Nancy LeMay, widow of Harold LeMay. Fireworks, an outdoor car show, and a concert by six-time Grammy Award winners Asleep at the Wheel provided the entertainment for the day.
