BMW is definitely hearing the plea that American buyers hunger for performance. Even though we’re not getting an M7 model but rather an M770i xDrive, the German automaker is blessing us with an M6 Gran Coupe.

The high-performance variant of BMW’s Gran Coupe model will be launched in America by next year and was confirmed by BMW U.S. spokesman Dave Buchko. It’s really no surprise than an M6 Gran Coupe will hit the market worldwide, considering the automaker has M variants for its existing 6-Series coupe and convertible models.

Back in February, we caught spy photos of the M6 Gran Coupe featuring wider fenders, a quad exhaust setup while powered by the same 4.4-liter V8 as the current M5. Chances are we’ll see at least 560-hp under the hood, but rumors still swirl that it’ll get a 20-hp boost.
