When Infiniti announced the Sebastian Vettel FX Edition, we couldn’t blame automotive enthusiasts for scratching their heads over why the Japanese automaker would leverage its Formula One champion with a special edition SUV rather than a sports car.

But the limited FX turns out to be a pretty impressive machine featuring a modified 5.0-liter V8 with 414 hp. Combine that with the aerodynamic tweaks, suspension modifications, and generous use of carbon fiber and it’s no surprise the special FX, limited to 200 units, fetches around $155,000.

Over the weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a pair of enthusiasts got the opportunity to not only check out the Vettel Edition FX, but decided to record its menacing growl. There’s no doubt that it sounds impressive, especially for a crossover, and we’re still a little bit disappointed that it won’t be heading to America.
