49 Mitsubishi i-MiEV’s are being recalled, so far only in Canada, for faulty airbag technology.

The issue is sensors that are incompatible with software used by the safety restraint system. In the event of a collision, this incompatibility can cause the inflatable curtain and side impact airbags to not deploy, or the front airbags to deploy late.

The company will replace the faulty sensors free of charge for customers.

So far, this recall is only listed as affecting Canadian vehicles, but will likely spread to the United States.
