After the brand’s new hypercar finished its hot laps, it seems Porsche also wanted to test the new 911 Carrera S, where it managed a time of seven minutes and 37 seconds around the Nürburgring.

Racing driver Timo Kluck piloted the vehicle around the track a whole two seconds faster than it took the 2010 911 turbo to make the same run. Powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six the Carrera S makes 400 hp transferred to wheels by a PDK automatic transmission. That combination makes 60 mph possible in just 3.9 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

A seven-speed manual transmission is also available on the car, although the driver in the video is clearly using the PDK automatic.
