After a controversial exit from General Motors, Joel Ewanick has found a new home as interim chief commercial officer at Fisker Automotive.

After being ousted as the global marketing chief at General Motors earlier this year, Ewanick was recently hired as a marketing consultant by Fisker and will remain a consultant even as he assumes his new position of interim chief commercial officer.

It appears that Ewanick will hold the position as the American electric automaker seeks “to appoint a long-term successor” to Richard Beattie, who is retiring. Ewanick will be tasked with guiding Fisker through the interim period, according to Tony Posawatz, Fisker’s chief executive.

Ewanick will be reunited with Posawatz who was the former Chevrolet Volt chief engineer.
