The performance flagship for the Jaguar XF range will be heading to the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show for its debut, after recently being spied looking close to production form.

The XFR-S is expected to compete head-to-head with the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, the XFR-S sports a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with 550 hp, borrowed from the XKR-S. The Jaguar’s powerplant will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that’s also found in the rest of the XF range.
