Renault and Caterham will revive the Alpine badge, which will adorn new sports cars that the brands will design and build together.

The new company will be called the Société des Automobiles Alpine Caterham, ownership of which will be split evenly between Caterham and Renault. The new cars will be built at Renault’s Alpine plant in Dieppe, France, and are supposed to be on the market within four years.

Both Caterham and Alpine have a history of performance and wins in the motorsports world, and will split the development and engineering of the cars 50/50. Both high-and low-volume models will be developed, and will be sold under both the Alpine and Caterham names.
