Ford of Canada has made history this year, selling more than 100,000 trucks in 2012, making it the first automaker to ever do so in Canada.

In celebration of the milestone, Ford of Canada is donating $10,000 to a charity selected by George Taylor, who bought the 100,000th F-Series pickup truck. In addition, the automaker is covering the cost of all maintenance and fuel for the first 100,000 km (62,137 miles) on the truck.

The Ford F-Series is now on track to become Canada’s best-selling truck for the 47th year in a row and will be the best-selling vehicle in Canada for the third year in a row. Over the last 46 years, Ford of Canada has sold more than 2,755,788 F-Series models.

“The F-Series has been Canada’s favourite truck for 46 consecutive years, but we have never sold 100,000 F-Series in a single year before,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO at Ford of Canada.
