Bentley just announced updates for its Mulsanne, the brand’s chauffeur friendly grand tourer, which is getting new interior appointments and new color choices in 2013.

A new comfort specification joins the options list this year, which includes new “comfort” headrests and footrests, down-stuffed loose cushions, and new privacy curtains that completely hide the rear-seat passengers. The new headrests feature manually adjustable wings, and can be hidden without being folded to prevent creasing on the leather. Other additions to the interior include a new rear-door armrest storage compartment.

Entertainment capabilities have also been stepped up in the 2013 Mulsanne, with the addition of rear picnic tables that fold out of the front seats, and offer a writing surface. That writing surface can be flipped up to reveal a space specifically tailored for an iPad and wireless keyboard. The new Mulsanne is also now a wi-fi hot spot. Eight-inch LCD headrest screens are also part of the entertainment package, and come equipped with 20 gigabytes of storage. Those screens, along with stereo, are routed through a “Naim for Bentley” premium audio system.

For the Mulsanne buyer who wants a full range of Bentley gear, new bespoke Mulsanne luggage pieces are now available from Italian company Schedoni.

The exterior of the car gets some new color choices; Dark Cashmere, Portofino and Damson. Dark Cashmere is a warm grey, while Portofino is a pale sapphire shade. Damson, the final new color, resembles “the subtle sparkle of rare purple diamonds.”

The new 2013 Bentley Mulsanne will appear at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
