Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo Offers Europeans a 410 HP 3 Series

The new BMW Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo made its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, boasting 410 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liter, twin-turbo straight-six engine.

For Alpina, it’s not just about performance under the hood. The tuner transforms the 3-Series sedan into an M3 alternative, perhaps something to hold Europeans over until the next-generation M3 debuts. Yes, that means that Alpina currently has no plans of bringing the B3 Bi-Turbo to America, which is a shame.

As for figures, the B3 Bi-Turbo accelerates to 62 mph from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. Those getting their hands on an Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo are also in a treat when they hear their new machine start up. The stainless steel exhaust system was developed in collaboration with Akrapovic, one of the world’s most refined and exclusive exhaust manufacturers.

There’s also the adaptive Alpina sport suspension that allows the owner to adjust the electronically-adjustable dampers to match their driving style. 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels it in all four wheel wells — a design that’s starting to feel outdated.

Icouldhand wash and dry my 3-series in half an hour. Except the wheels. Believe me, those 20-odd spoke alloys just double the time spent. I also had them on a Mercedes CLS and oh boy, in the end,I was glad to get rid of them. Don't go there unless you always pay someone else to do it for you! 20+ spoke wheels -anightmare invented by Satan!
