Sebastian Vettel Named Infiniti Director of Performance
Three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel has been named Infiniti’s Director of Performance.
In the past couple of years, Vettel has been working closely with Infiniti to inspire more performance in their vehicles, having helped develop the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition last year. Vettel was a central part in helping develop Infiniti’s newest model, the Q50, which replaces the outgoing G37 sedan.
According to Infiniti, Vettel spent time with Infiniti engineers in Japan during the Q50’s development phase. He provided them with feedback on the vehicle’s chassis dynamics, performance, and handling. He was also involved with testing early models of the Q50 in Japan and on the Nurburgring in Germany.
“Sebastian’s talent and ability behind the wheel is unquestionable and his role in developing Infiniti vehicles has already proven invaluable,” said Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen. “How many premium automotive brands can honestly say its vehicles have been developed alongside a triple World Champion?
