Watch a Lap of Road America at 400 MPH – Video

No, a race car didn’t go 400 mph at Road America, but Volkswagen of America did take a Jetta Pace Car out for a lap and added some movie magic.

At the 2012 SCCA Runoffs, a Jetta took a lap around Road America averaging around 70 mph. The video speed was then adjusted accordingly to give us an idea of what it’s like to zip through the track at 400 mph. Unfortunately this is probably the closest we’ll ever get to see what it’s like to see a race car travel that fast on the track.
