Last week, Mercedes-Benz officially announced its GLA crossover model, but only revealed the 2.0-liter, 208-horsepower GLA 250 variant.

Similar to its CLA-Class, the German automaker is working on a more powerful, sportier GLA 45 AMG model which will have the same four-cylinder engine under the hood cranking out 360 horsepower. The prototype that was recently spied testing at the ‘Ring has all your typical AMG styling touches, including a much more aggressive rear spoiler.

In addition, we can expect to see your typical collection of AMG upgrades including suspension, brakes, wheels, and exhaust. As for pricing on the GLA 45 AMG, expect the same gap that’s found in the CLA 250 ($30,825 including destination) vs. the CLA 45 ($48,375 including destination).
