Hyundai will be expanding its Zombie Survival Machine family of vehicles when it debuts the Santa Fe variant at the upcoming New York Comic-Con on October 10.

The custom Santa Fe is the result of The Walking Dead Chop Shop configurator app contest, which allowed users to design their own zombie survival machines using the Veloster Turbo, Santa Fe or Elantra. This summer, Anson Kuo’s Santa Fe design was chosen as the winner out of over 82,500 submissions. The Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine will be built by Galpin Auto Sports and will be on display at the Future US booth at NYCC.

“We love Anson Kuo’s take on this Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine – it’s creative… and deadly,” said Steve Shannon, vice president, Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “With help from the popularity of The Walking Dead franchise, Hyundai continues to expand the conversation around Hyundai vehicles with young and passionate audiences.”
