2014 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T Starts at $20,895
Volkswagen has released pricing information on a host of Passat models, all of which get their power from a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
At the bottom of the 1.8T range is the Passat 1.8T S, priced at $20,895 when equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. Bump up to the Wolfsburg Edition and Volkswagen will charge you $23,965, adding some interior content as well as a standard automatic transmission.
The top model 1.8T model, the SE, starts at $24,475, while the SE with sunroof goes for $26,395. Finally, the SE with sunroof and navigation is worth $27,555.
This little turbo four makes 170 hp, matching the power ratings of the outgoing Volkswagen five-cylinder engine, and even topping it by 7 lb-ft of torque with a total 184 lb-ft.
Fuel economy has also improved thanks to the new motor, and is now rated at 34 mpg highway and 28 mpg city when the car is fitted with an automatic transmission. When fitted with the manual, the car is rated at 24 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.
