Volvo has finally pulled the trigger on bringing hopped-up Polestar versions of both the V60 wagon and S60 sedan to North America, as well as other worldwide markets including Japan and the U.K.

Powering this pair is a six-cylinder motor that uses twin-scroll turbo technology to pump out 350 hp and 369 lb-ft at 2800 rpm. Mated to the engine is a six-speed automatic transmission along with Volvo’s four-wheel drive and traction control setup. The powertrain comes together to propel either of these cars to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Along with power upgrades, the chassis of these cars has been made stiffer to help handle the new spring setup which is 80 percent stiffer than in Volvo’s R-Design lineup of cars. High-performance shock absorbers, 20-inch wheels, improved brakes and aerodynamic add-ons like the front splitter and rear wing round off the Polestar-given modifications.

The interior features Polestar blue accents on the steering wheel and seats along with upgrades that tailor to “increasing driver support and control” says Volvo.

Deliveries of these cars will begin in June 2014, and production numbers will be limited. Volvo hasn’t said at this time how many of these Polestar cars will be built.
