The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster made its world premiere in style on board an Italian aircraft carrier in Abu Dhabi.

Though it was the vehicle’s public debut, the event was exclusive to potential buyers and VIPs, as it should be considering only nine units will ever be built and its price tag is set at $4.4 million. The fully road legal, open top car features 750 hp from its V12 powerplant and accelerates to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

High profile people at the event included His Excellency Giorgio Starace, Italian Ambassador to the UAE and the Admiral of High Seas Forces, Paolo Treu. The naval aircraft carrier Nave Cavour was docked in Abu Dhabi’s Mina Zayed port for the Veneno Roadster’s debut.

“The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is one of the world’s most exclusive cars with the most extraordinary performance,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini, commenting on the event. “We are honored that Lamborghini was chosen to represent the Italian car industry in the UAE, as a perfect example of iconic Italian super sports cars, and that we have the opportunity to show the Veneno Roadster for the first time in Abu Dhabi.”
