Volkswagen has revealed the latest version of its small crossover concept, known as the Advanced SUV Concept Taigun at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, India.

This small crossover concept was first displayed at the São Paulo Auto Show, and since then VW has added a few new features along with a new paint job. Based on consumer feedback, this latest version of the Taigun features a spare wheel mounted on the exterior at the back along with a new trunk lid.

The mechanicals remain unchanged, with the concept getting its motivation from a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 108 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. The jump to 62 mph takes about 9.2 seconds, while the top speed is around 115 mph.

Fuel efficiency is a top priority of the Taigun Concept, which uses a six-speed manual transmission to help achieve an average fuel rating of 50 mpg.

Size wise, the Taigun measures in at 151.9 inches long, 43.9 inches wide and 39.9 inches tall, making it significantly smaller than the existing Tiguan SUV and even smaller than the Nissan Juke.

While the Taigun is quite small which would make it at home in the city, Volkswagen has fitted it with 17-inch alloy wheels, 205/50 R17 tires and roof rails with integrated LED spotlights to make this small crossover at home off road. Departure angles come in at 28 degrees in the front departure and 35.5 degrees at the rear.
