The Mazda MX-5 Miata is not known for its speed, but there is one thing that the new special edition MX-5 did quite quickly: Sell.

The 25th anniversary edition of the car, of which just 100 units were produced, managed to all sell out in just 10 minutes. Mazda had anticipated the order program would stay open from May 20 to May 31 or until 250 customers had signed up, the latter of which happened in just 10 minutes.

Out of the 250 customers, Mazda North America will give top priority to the first 100, who will be contacted directly. Once purchase intent and transmission selection is confirmed, the car will be shipped to the customer’s local dealer beginning in late summer.

The car costs $33,000 when equipped with the manual, or bumps up to $33,450 with the automatic.

It only comes coated in Soul Red Metallic paint with black for the A-pillars, window surround, mirrors and Power-Retractable Hard Top (PRHT). Mazda also says that only the best engine components, meeting the highest tolerances were selected for the pistons, connecting rods and flywheel to ensure that the engine revs more freely.
