Lexus has plans for a new flagship coupe model based on the LF-LC Concept, which will beging production in 2016.

According to Autocar, the production car will look almost the same as the concept car, which impressed crowds with its style when it was revealed at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. “The production LF-LC will not be a huge volume [car] for Lexus, but it will bring huge emotion,” said Lexus Europe’s vice-president Alain Uyttenhoven.

Recent rumors suggest that the LF-LC will bring back the SC badge, and will be based on a shortened version of the Lexus LS platform.

Lexus has plans to introduce an all-new car every year between now and 2020. In 2014, it is the NX crossover, while 2015 will be the RC Coupe and 2016 will be the LF-LC.
